The Ford F-150 is the highest ranked large pickup in the annual J.D. Power and Associates 2011 Initial Quality Study (IQS).

The F-Series was introduced in 1948 and has been a perennial sales leader in its class. In 2011 the F-150 came out with an all-new line of engines, including the 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 and the optional innovative twin-turbocharged EcoBoost™ engine.

The 2011 IQS is based on responses from more than 73,000 buyers and lessees of new 2011 cars, trucks, crossovers and SUVs surveyed after 90 days of ownership (between February and May 2011). The study involved 228 survey questions concerning problems in two categories: design-related problems; defects and malfunctions.
